Three-Check Chess
Three-Check is a chess variant with one additional win condition: give check three times and you win, regardless of material or position. This simple rule change creates an entirely different strategic landscape.
Rules
All standard chess rules apply. Additionally, each player tracks how many times they've given check. Reaching 3 checks is an instant win. You can also still win by traditional checkmate. The game becomes a race to give checks while protecting your king from receiving them.
How strategy changes
King safety becomes even more critical. Early checks that seem harmless in standard chess can win the game. Sacrificing material for tempo (check) is often correct. The opening changes dramatically, aggressive, checking lines are much stronger.
