Streamer Overlay for OBS
Add a clean, transparent live overlay of your game to OBS or Streamlabs — names, ratings and ticking clocks that update automatically.
- Copy the Browser Source URL above.
- In OBS: Sources → + → Browser.
- Paste the URL. Set width 360, height 200 (more if not compact).
- Leave the background transparent — the overlay has none, so it composites over your scene.

Viewers watching a chess stream can't easily tell who's who, what the clocks say, or who's ahead just from a bare board. A Browser Source overlay solves that without you touching a video editor — it's a small transparent layer OBS or Streamlabs draws on top of your existing scene, showing both players' names, ratings, and live-ticking clocks that stay in sync with the actual game, updating automatically as moves are made.
Frequently asked questions
Does this replace my board capture? No — the overlay is meant to sit on top of a screen or window capture of the game itself (or a physical board camera). It only adds the player/clock information, not the board.
Why isn't my overlay showing anything? Overlays only work for public games — a private game's data isn't exposed to the Browser Source URL. Double-check you pasted a game link, UUID, or code rather than a lobby or profile URL.
What size should I set the Browser Source to? 360×200 covers the default layout comfortably; use a taller height if you leave "Compact" unchecked, since the full player cards take more vertical space than the compact version.
Can I use this for someone else's game? Yes, as long as it's public — paste any public game's link the same way you would your own, which is handy for casting other players' games live.
