Why You're Still Stuck at 1200

You've played hundreds of games. Maybe thousands. And you're still 1200. The uncomfortable truth: playing more games does NOT equal improvement. You're reinforcing bad habits. Here's what's actually wrong, and how to fix it.

Why playing more doesn't work

  1. You're playing blitz on autopilot.
  2. You never analyse your games.
  3. You repeat the same mistakes without knowing it.
  4. You study openings instead of tactics and endgames. Playing without studying is like driving without a map, you move but don't progress.

The fix

  1. Switch to rapid (15+10).
  2. Analyse every loss, find the critical mistake.
  3. Solve 15 puzzles daily.
  4. Study one endgame concept per week.
  5. Play 3 games per day maximum, quality over quantity. See also: Why You're Stuck at 1200.
