Breaking 1500 is the transition from tactical player to strategic player. You need to understand pawn structures, piece activity, and planning.

Strategy foundations

  1. Study pawn structures.
  2. Learn piece activity principles.
  3. Build a basic opening repertoire (2-3 systems for each colour).
  4. Study one master game per week deeply.

Tactics upgrade

Solve harder puzzles (3-4 move combinations). Focus on deflection, discovered attacks, and zwischenzug.
